Services for research and teaching purposes

Our meteorological and climatological services are available free of charge for the use in teaching and research. Examples for this are surface level data, gridded data, model data, sounding data or radar data.

Costs have to be met for the supply of data if they amount to over CHF 100. — (for consultation, setting up and maintaining regular supplies).
The data which are not subject to fees may be used exclusively by the individual ordering them for teaching and research purposes. Every other use of these services such as commercial use (publication via internet, use for the production of own meteorological and climatological services or the direct transfer to third parties) is not permitted. General conditions

In all publications, the source has to be quoted. (Source: MeteoSwiss or Source: Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss)

Above all representatives of teaching and research institutes such as universities, universities of applied sciences, technical colleges, vocational schools, secondary schools, primary schools and private schools if they use these meteorological and climatological services for their own purposes in connection with their teaching and research activities.
